Annual Backflow Testing & Certification — Total Plumbing & Gas
If your building has a backflow prevention device, you are legally required to have it tested and certified every year by a registered Independent Qualified Person (IQP).
Without a current Form 12A certificate from a registered IQP, you cannot issue your annual Building Warrant of Fitness (BWoF) — and without a BWoF, you are in breach of the Building Act 2004. Fines apply.
Most property owners know they need to do this. Few have a reliable system to make sure it actually happens every year.
